In the distinguished presence of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Abdul Karim Al-Jubouri, Al-Farabi University hosted the “First Educational Conference for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs,” held under the theme “Inclusive Education Creates Impact and Achieves Empowerment.”
Broad Partnership and High-Profile Attendance: The conference was organized through a strategic trilateral partnership involving the Ministry of Education, the Sandi Organization for Special Needs Care, and Al-Farabi University. The event witnessed high-profile attendance and active participation from:
- Members of the Iraqi Parliament.
- Directors-General from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
- A large group of specialized researchers, scholars, and educational experts.
- Directors and representatives of inclusive and integration schools.
Conference Objectives: Through its research panels and dialogue sessions, the conference aimed to evaluate the practical implementation of inclusive education and discuss the educational and legal frameworks safeguarding the rights of individuals with disabilities and special needs. Furthermore, it sought to unify governmental, civil, and academic efforts to provide sustainable solutions that ensure their seamless integration and empowerment within both educational environments and society at large.
