About the Division

The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division at Al-Farabi University is one of the most vital units dedicated to supporting students in developing their psychological well-being, managing their time and energy, and enhancing their personal and academic skills. The division helps students understand themselves, recognize their abilities, overcome challenges, and achieve emotional, social, and professional balance.

Counseling focuses on a professional, interactive relationship between a counselor (faculty member) and a student, helping the student gain self-awareness and promote positive behavior. In contrast, educational guidance involves a variety of planned services—such as seminars, lectures, meetings, newsletters, bulletin boards, and social media—designed to provide students with information that fosters self-understanding and responsible decision-making.
