Under the theme “From Data to Value,” and to foster an academic environment aligned with modern technical advancements, Al-Farabi University, in partnership with the College of Excellence at the University of Baghdad, hosted the (Data Science Forum), featuring wide participation from academics, experts, researchers, and university students.
High-Level Attendance: The forum witnessed distinguished official and diplomatic representation, attended by:
- The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Haider Abed Dahad.
- The Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea, H.E. Lee Joon-il.
- A selection of prominent academic figures and specialists in the fields of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
Forum and Hackathon Activities: The event featured an intensive program, including:
- Data Hackathon: The launch of a hackathon competition with the participation of 33 teams representing 12 Iraqi universities, judged by academics and specialists from the Iraqi Programmers Association.
- Panel Sessions: Scientific presentations and discussion sessions addressed the current state of Data Science in Iraq and the promising future opportunities in this sector.
This initiative is part of Al-Farabi University’s ongoing efforts to support technological innovation and provide competitive platforms that bridge academic education and practical application to serve the country’s digital development.
