In its continuous effort to enhance practical skills and bridge the gap between academic curricula and the latest technological advancements, the Technical Engineering College (Department of Medical Devices Engineering Techniques), in collaboration with the College of Engineering (Department of Biomedical Engineering) at Al-Farabi University, organized a specialized scientific visit to the “Bionic Center for Smart Prosthetics and Medical Rehabilitation” at the Holy Abbasid Shrine.

Visit Highlights: The visit featured a comprehensive field tour that allowed students to explore:

  • Modern Technologies: Learning about the latest innovations in the design and development of smart prosthetic limbs.
  • Technical Integration: Understanding how sensors are integrated and how bio-signals are processed to ensure maximum compatibility and responsiveness for the patient.
  • Manufacturing Stages: Observing the precise engineering steps of manufacturing, from initial design to final medical rehabilitation stages.

Academic Objectives: This initiative by Al-Farabi University aims to strengthen the practical experience of its students and enable them to keep pace with the rigorous requirements of their specialization in the labor market. This contributes to preparing engineers capable of handling advanced medical technology to serve the community.
