To enhance integration between academic studies and practical application, the Department of Oil and Gas Refining Engineering at Al-Farabi University’s College of Engineering organized three scientific visits for third-year students to the Midland Refineries Company (Daura Refinery).
Visit Objectives and Field Units: The visits aimed to enrich students’ knowledge through:
- Operational Processes: Gaining field-level familiarity with the vital components of oil refineries in Iraq.
- Strategic Units: Conducting field tours that included strategic departments to observe the mechanisms and technologies used in refining and production.
- Knowledge Integration: Aligning theoretical studies with the technical reality of the national oil industry.
Recognition and Support: The Dean of the College of Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Abd Al-Amir Idan, expressed his gratitude to the management and staff of Daura Refinery for their fruitful cooperation and warm reception. He also praised their role in supporting the scientific journey and providing field training opportunities for students.
