On the occasion of “Iraqi Anti-Drug Week” and as part of its role in raising awareness about social threats, the College of Administration and Economics at Al-Farabi University organized a specialized workshop titled: “The Impact of Drugs on Individuals and Society.”
Guest Speakers and Activity Details: The workshop was held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, and featured:
- Major General Khaled Abdel Ghaffar Al-Bayati (Expert at Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies / National Security Advisory) as the keynote speaker.
- Prof. Dr. Hanaa Abdel Ghaffar Al-Samarrai (Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs).
- Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hassan Rasham (Head of the Business Administration Department).
Key Workshop Pillars and Official Data: The session covered strategic and analytical themes, including:
- Classification of drug types and their physiological effects.
- The impact on youth, as the most targeted demographic.
- Treatment and prevention methods and social immunization strategies.
- Official Statistics: The workshop presented the latest data from the Iraqi Ministry of Health regarding cases treated in specialized hospitals in Baghdad and across all governorates.
The event was attended by faculty members from the college and other university departments, along with a large group of students, reflecting a strong academic commitment to supporting national efforts in combating this menace.
