📌 Objectives:

The Department of Cybersecurity aims to keep pace with the rapid developments in the field of cybersecurity both locally and globally. This specialization was established in response to the accelerating pace of digital transformation and the rise in cyberattack rates and risks of system breaches.
Therefore, the specialization seeks to qualify a generation equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to use various tools to detect and address breaches and vulnerabilities.
The curriculum includes many theoretical and practical subjects related to ethical hacking, digital forensics, encryption, cyber warfare, cloud computing, and network security.
It also integrates many programming languages relevant to cybersecurity and cloud computing, such as Python, for developing various security tools.
The decision to create this specialization was made after consulting with experts in computer science and the public and private labor market, in response to the need to prepare qualified national competencies to support the local community with graduates and researchers in cybersecurity.
This contributes to developing the infrastructure required to provide essential cybersecurity services that improve the performance and safety of public and private institutions in Iraq, through a modern and continuously updated academic program built on labor market needs and driven by research in this field.
