In Line with Ministry Directives and Internationalizing Higher Education: Al-Farabi University Discusses Hosting Graduate Programs with Egypt’s Mansoura University

Aligning with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research toward internationalizing education, and fulfilling Al-Farabi University’s strategic vision to expand global academic partnerships, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mazen Samir Al-Hakeem, Vice President of Al-Farabi University for Scientific Affairs, held a high-level meeting with Prof. Dr. Tarek Alloush, Vice President of Mansoura University for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, in the presence of Dr. Mohammad Al-Halfawi.

The meeting focused on establishing joint cooperation mechanisms to host postgraduate programs at Al-Farabi University’s campus in Baghdad.

  • Postgraduate Programs: Exploring operational frameworks to host advanced graduate studies at Al-Farabi University in coordination with Mansoura University.
  • Scientific Research & Conferences: Organizing joint international conferences, academic activities, and collaborative research initiatives between faculty members from both institutions.
  • Training & Capacity Building: Implementing specialized skill-development programs for faculty and students, alongside technical training opportunities in Egypt.

Field Tour and Egyptian Reception: The visit featured a field tour of “InnoTech” (Entelaq Company), an entity operating under Mansoura University within the science park and technology incubator framework, as well as site visits to the Colleges of Engineering and Education.

The Vice President of Mansoura University and the Dean of the College of Education warmly welcomed expanding all avenues of collaboration with Iraqi universities, particularly Al-Farabi University, to execute joint postgraduate degrees, research, and training initiatives. Both parties concluded by agreeing on completing the necessary procedural steps to enact this bilateral partnership between Iraq and Egypt.
