About the Department
A leading academic department preparing civil engineering professionals
The Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, Al-Farabi University, is one of the leading scientific departments that has contributed, since its establishment in 2013, to preparing distinguished engineering cadres equipped with the scientific knowledge and applied skills needed to serve development and reconstruction projects in Iraq.
Since its launch, the department has worked to strengthen its academic standing by developing its educational programs and engineering laboratories, and by updating its curricula in line with modern scientific and technological developments across the various fields of civil engineering.
The department operates according to an advanced academic vision focused on achieving quality and excellence in engineering education, while adopting scientific twinning mechanisms and academic coordination with the University of Baghdad. This supports academic rigor and the unification of academic standards in curricula, assessment methods, and joint examinations.
The department continues to supply the labor market, government institutions, and the private sector with qualified graduates who possess professional competence and the ability to create and innovate, in addition to contributing effectively to community service and sustainable development.
