As part of the ongoing collaboration between the College of Engineering at Al-Farabi University and the Iraqi Engineers Union, Dr. Khaled Abdul Ali, Head of the Department of Oil Refining and Gas Engineering, received an academic delegation from the Union on Monday, October 21, 2025.
The visiting delegation included Eng. Ali Saber, Head of the Chemical Engineering Department at the Union, and his deputy Eng. Ahmed Muthanna, accompanied by a distinguished group of faculty members from the department.
During the visit, the delegation met with students in their classrooms, encouraging them to make the utmost effort academically in service of Iraq. The delegation also toured the university facilities and the department’s scientific laboratories, expressing admiration for the university’s infrastructure and the exceptional learning environment it provides for its students.
The delegation held meetings with Dr. Muhannad Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Farabi University, and Dr. Osama Abdul Ameer, Dean of the College of Engineering. Both emphasized the university’s full support for any cooperation with the Union aimed at serving engineering graduates and enhancing their practical experience.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation presented a bouquet of flowers to Dr. Mueyed Al-Jubouri, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Farabi University, expressing their gratitude for the warm reception and praising the students’ high level and active participation in training courses organized by the Union in oil refining and gas technology.
Dr. Al-Jubouri reaffirmed his full support for all joint scientific activities between the College of Engineering and the Union to serve the students and graduates of the university.
