Al-Farabi University Students Participate in UNESCO Seminar on Youth Skills in a Changing World

In alignment with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, 27 students from Al-Farabi University joined 371 students from 19 Arab countries in the International Intellectual Seminar Celebrating International Youth Day, held under the theme: “From Empowerment to Impact: Youth Skills in a Changing World.”

The seminar took place on the morning of Tuesday, August 12, 2025, organized by the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE). Distinguished attendees included H.E. Dr. Rima Karami, Lebanese Minister of Education, Princess Sama bint Faisal, Chair of the Saudi Girl Scouts Committee, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Mudaires, Director of UNESCO’s Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education, and Mr. Mohammed Al-Muqbil, Director of the Gulf Arab States Educational Bureau.

The participation of Al-Farabi University students was overseen by the University’s Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mazen Samir Al-Hakim, who attended the seminar alongside the students. They engaged in Arabic-language discussions on the most critical skills youth need today in the face of rapid global changes, and on ways to advance from empowerment to genuine impact.

At the conclusion of the seminar, all participating students received certificates of attendance from the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education.
