An awareness lecture titled “Premarital Medical Examination” was held today, Monday, April 14, 2025, in cooperation with the Baghdad Health Department / Al-Karkh, aiming to highlight the importance of undergoing medical tests before marriage and their role in protecting public health.
The lecture focused on the necessity of premarital medical screenings due to their vital role in preventing hereditary diseases, especially thalassemia. It discussed the latest methods of diagnosis, ways to manage the disease, and strategies to limit its spread within the community.
The session also covered the main symptoms associated with thalassemia, available treatment options, and effective preventive measures. Emphasis was placed on the importance of raising health awareness among those preparing for marriage to help build healthy families and promote the overall well-being of the society.
