As part of its academic guidance and awareness initiatives, the Women’s Affairs Unit at Al-Farabi University organized an awareness lecture titled “The Importance of Choosing Suitable Academic Majors for Women and Aligning Them with the Job Market”, held on Sunday, the 13th of this month, at 9:30 AM in Hall F23.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Majda Abdul-Majeed Aziz, a specialist in women’s empowerment and higher education. She emphasized the significance of well-informed academic choices for female students, highlighting the importance of selecting majors that align with their interests and capabilities while also responding to evolving labor market demands.
The lecture addressed several key topics, including:
- Understanding the current job market and anticipating future trends.
- Challenges faced by women in certain academic fields and how to overcome them.
- The role of the university environment in supporting and empowering female students.
- Inspiring success stories of women who pursued non-traditional career paths.
The session witnessed active participation from both students and faculty, with engaging discussions and insightful questions that reflected a growing awareness of the importance of thoughtful academic planning.
