Al-Farabi University achieved the rank No. of 1083 in the green metrics university rankings, This progress is considered an indicator of the university’s influence at the international and local levels, and this classification is based on the criteria of universities’ interest in issues of community development and environmental sustainability, the extent of their commitment to environmentally friendly practices, and their keenness to increase awareness within their activities on campus and in the community.
It also reflects the university’s interest in international environmental standards and its efforts to provide a healthy, integrated educational environment and achieve environmental sustainability at all levels, thus serving as a tool for self-evaluation of the campus sustainability of higher education institutions locally and internationally. This classification is based on 6 main indicators: infrastructure, energy, waste management, water, transportation, as well as the level of the educational process.
On the other hand, this classification reflects the university’s excellence in providing a sustainable environment that continues to serve the various sectors of the state and society.
The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ahmed Gailan Abdullah, praises the efforts of all scientific and administrative circles, including professors, associates, and students, who contributed to achieving this qualitative achievement, in addition to the efforts of the Quality Council at Al-Farabi University.
