In fulfillment of the requirements of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (Paragraph 3), the Women’s Affairs Division at Al-Farabi University, in collaboration with the College of Law, organized a specialized legal workshop titled: “Raising Awareness Among Women Regarding Regulations and Laws Related to Their Rights and Duties.”
Workshop Details: The workshop was held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, and presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Iman Jassam Mohammed (Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs at the College of Law). The session aimed to legally empower women and enhance their leadership roles in society.
Key Discussion Pillars:
- Legislative Frameworks: A detailed review of the rights guaranteed to women by the Iraqi Constitution and existing laws.
- Protection and Duties: Focusing on legal protection mechanisms and professional duties that ensure a safe and stable work environment.
- Legal Challenges: Discussing the obstacles women face and the legal means to address them.
Recommendations: The workshop concluded with recommendations emphasizing the importance of continuing such activities to raise legal literacy among female staff and students, contributing to the broader goals of social peace and security.
