Supporting the National Plan for Women, Peace, and Security: Al-Farabi University Discusses “Soft Skills Development” as a Pillar of Prevention

The Women’s Affairs Division at Al-Farabi University, in collaboration with the College of Administration and Economics, organized an awareness workshop titled: “Developing Soft Skills for Women: A Pillar of Prevention within the National Plan for Women, Peace, and Security.”

Key Speakers: The session was moderated by Prof. Dr. Hanaa Abdul Ghaffar (Scientific Associate Dean of the College of Administration and Economics), featuring Dr. Nibras Al-Mamouri (Senior Political Advisor in the Council of Representatives and Head of the Iraqi Women Journalists Forum) as the keynote speaker.

Objectives: The workshop focused on strategic goals, including:

  • Academic & Professional Empowerment: Refining “Soft Skills” such as effective communication, leadership, and crisis management.
  • Activating the Prevention Pillar: Utilizing these skills as preventive tools to help women navigate challenges in the workplace and society.
  • Bridging Politics and Academia: Transferring field expertise (political and media-related) to the university community.

The event witnessed wide attendance from faculty members, staff, and students, reflecting the university’s commitment to women’s empowerment strategies.
