The Presidency of Al-Farabi University (Women’s Affairs Division) organized an awareness symposium on the morning of Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in collaboration with the Baghdad Karkh Health Directorate / Dora Sector for Primary Health Care. This event is part of the activities for the “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence” campaign.
The symposium addressed the profound impact of violence against women, emphasizing that it targets not only the individual but also undermines her dignity and ability to live securely. Discussions highlighted that combating violence begins with empowerment, protection, and creating safe environments that restore women’s rights and voices.
A key objective of the session was to assist female students in understanding the psychological distinction between “Fear” and “Anxiety.” The symposium aimed to equip students with the knowledge to manage these emotions, fostering mental well-being and paving the way for a future of safety and peace.
