Greener Campus Initiative: Al-Farabi Students Plant 58 Trees to Enhance University Gardens

As part of the University Afforestation Committee’s ongoing activities to create a sustainable academic environment, Al-Farabi University departments continued their campaign to expand green spaces across the campus.

The campaign featured active participation from the College of Pharmacy, where staff and students planted 12 Jacaranda trees in the university’s front garden. Simultaneously, the Department of Pathological Analysis contributed by planting 12 trees, including Jacaranda and ornamental flowering trees, in the gardens surrounding the sports grounds.

With these recent additions, the total number of trees planted has reached 58. These include flowering and large-shade trees, planted through the collaborative efforts of students and professors from the Colleges of Science, Nursing, and Pharmacy, as well as the Departments of Pathological Analysis and Architecture. This initiative highlights the university community’s commitment to environmental stewardship and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the campus.
