Under the patronage of the Presidency of Al-Farabi University and organized by the Women’s Affairs Division, the Department of Oil Refining Engineering at the College of Engineering held an awareness seminar titled “Protecting Women and Confronting the Violence They Face.”
The seminar aimed to shed light on the various forms of violence that women may encounter in society, the resulting psychological and social effects, and the Iraqi laws and regulations that safeguard women’s rights and ensure their protection.
It also emphasized the importance of social awareness, fostering a culture of respect and equality, and strengthening the role of academic institutions in promoting respect for women’s dignity and encouraging their active participation in public life.
The event concluded with valuable contributions from attendees, who proposed further awareness initiatives both within and beyond the university.
