Cooperation Agreement Between Al-Farabi University and the Women’s Affairs Directorate at the Presidency

As part of its ongoing efforts to empower women and strengthen their role in academia and society, Al-Farabi University, through its Women’s Affairs Department, signed a cooperation agreement with the Women’s Affairs Directorate at the Presidency of the Republic.

The agreement was formalized during an official meeting between Ms. Hana Emmanuel Korkis, Director General of the Women’s Affairs Directorate at the Presidency, and the university delegation, which included Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Mashali, Vice President of the University for Administrative Affairs, and Ms. Heba Mazhar, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the university.

This cooperation aims to establish joint programs on women’s empowerment, including workshops and training sessions designed to raise awareness of women’s rights and enhance their active participation in academic and administrative sectors. It also covers collaboration in scientific studies and research addressing women’s issues in Iraq, and supporting initiatives that promote a more inclusive and equitable academic and social environment.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the agreement and maintaining close coordination to achieve shared objectives, thereby strengthening the role of women within the university community and opening new horizons for institutional cooperation between Al-Farabi University and the Presidency of the Republic.
