Al-Farabi University’s Women’s Affairs Unit Organizes Seminar on “Characteristics of a Healthy Work Environment for Both Genders within the Pillar of Prevention and Protection”

As part of its ongoing efforts to raise professional awareness and promote gender equality, the Women’s Affairs Unit at Al-Farabi University organized a scientific seminar titled “Characteristics of a Healthy Work Environment for Both Genders within the Pillar of Prevention and Protection”, held on Tuesday in Hall P12, with the participation of faculty members and students from various departments.

The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Shu’la Alaa Al-Din Al-Bakri from the Department of Design, where she discussed the fundamental concepts of a healthy work environment that ensures both psychological and physical safety for employees of both genders. She emphasized the importance of considering individual differences and ensuring equal opportunities in the workplace as a key pillar for creating a safe and sustainable professional environment.

The seminar covered several topics, including:

  • Global standards for a healthy work environment.
  • The challenges faced by both women and men in different work settings.
  • The importance of preventing psychological and physical occupational risks.
  • Examples of successful practices in building fair and inclusive work environments.

The seminar saw active participation from attendees, sparking numerous discussions and questions that reflected a growing interest in improving the reality of work environments in Iraqi institutions, in line with the principles of professional protection and equality.

This seminar is part of a series of events organized by the Women’s Affairs Unit at the university, which aims to establish a culture of healthy work environments and empower students to recognize the importance of building a professional future based on principles of prevention, equality, and mutual respect.
