Meeting to Strengthen Academic Collaboration and University Twinning in Iraq

In line with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research directives to enhance academic cooperation between public and private universities, the first meeting was held to discuss mechanisms for twinning and joint collaboration between Al-Farabi University College and the College of Business Economics, with the participation of Al-Mansour University College.

Al-Farabi University College was represented by Prof. Dr. Hanaa Abdul Ghafar Hamoud, Head of the Department of Accounting and Banking Sciences. Attending on behalf of the College of Business Economics were Prof. Dr. Nagham Hussein Naama, Dean of the College, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sahar Fathallah Mohammed, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Representatives from Al-Mansour University College also took part in the meeting, which was held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Al-Nahrain University.

The meeting covered several key topics, including:

  • Reviewing the implementation mechanisms of the Bologna Process.
  • Discussing joint examination subjects and their academic requirements for the current academic year.
  • Exploring opportunities to sign an academic twinning agreement for the Department of Financial and Accounting Auditing for the 2025-2026 academic year.

This meeting aligns with the Ministry of Higher Education’s ongoing efforts to develop Iraq’s academic environment and enhance university integration, supporting educational progress and improving quality standards in accordance with modern global trends.
